Anthropic’s Claude is now reading your Slack
On June 23, 2026, Anthropic launched Claude Tag — an “always-on” Claude that lives inside Slack for Enterprise and Team customers. Tag @Claude in a channel and it answers, takes on tasks, and, as TechCrunch put it, “builds persistent organizational context” by watching channel activity. With permission, it can even gather facts from other channels to deepen its picture of how your company works.
It is genuinely useful — an assistant that learns your institutional knowledge. But sit with where that learning lives. A working model of your company — who decides what, how the work actually flows, what is said in your private channels — is now accumulating inside a vendor’s cloud, under a vendor’s terms. The more useful it gets, the more of your company it has absorbed.
- An always-on assistant that learns your company is exactly what you want — built on hardware you own, not inside someone else’s account.
- The real asset isn’t the model; it’s everything the model learns about you. That should stay yours.
